What?
"Eastern Flying Club" or "E.F.C." will again be the home for our second Precision Flying Event ("PFE") in Thailand, last
year's PFE was also held at E.F.C. in Pattaya and was attended by 14
aircraft:
The 2012 aircraft line-up at E.F.C. Pattaya
This year we're celebrating our new 500 meter runway.
As in 2012, the PFE will consist of two elements. Firstly there will be the Precision Navigation Event and then, the Precision Landing Event. For E.F.C. 2013 we have replaced the human Ground Observers with GPS "data-loggers" - so there will be no chance of any measurement errors or problems in identifying aircraft from the ground.
Scores from both the events will go to decide who are Thailand's 2013 Precision Flying Crew.

There will be prizes awarded to the winners and, the overall winning crew will be awarded our prestigious trophy for one year:

Trikes/Quicksilvers and other very light aircraft
This year we will offer crews of these aircraft the option of an early-morning take-off on the Saturday in order to avoid mid-afternoon thermal activity. The first launch will be at dawn (06:30) and crews will need to apply in advance if they would like an early slot.

When?
When?
The date has been set for the weekend of 9th and 10th March 2013.
Where?
2013's venue will again be Eastern Flying Club ("E.F.C.") near Pattaya.
Who?
The
flying and scoring elements of the PFE will be organized again by Boz
Robinson and Mike Gillam, together with an array of Ground Marshals to
ensure the competitors start their aircraft on time, depart on time, are
scored correctly and accurately, etc. Gerry Lategan has developed a software package for reading the information from the data-loggers and, converting this data into a scoring system.
